Message from the Team Manager
For those new to the league, it is a Senior competition, but open to U17 and older athletes, although all events are run at the Senior weights for the throws, and distances / heights for the hurdles.
We will be selecting 2 male and 2 female athletes for each event, although there will also be specific guest races in the 100m and 200m, and we may be able to also accommodate guests in other events, both track and field, at the discretion of the match officials.
For the oversubscribed events, I will be looking at the NAL team to try and make sure that athletes who haven’t had the opportunity to compete in that league will get a chance in the Midland League.
As you may know, the composite team with Bristol and West that we competed from 2013 to 2019 was disbanded, and Yate are now competing as a standalone club again in this league. 2021 was a one-off regionalised league format, but in 2022 it is back to standard Divisions, with promotion and relegation applying.
We are in Division 3, alongside Cheltenham, Bromsgrove & Redditch, Stratford upon Avon, Sutton in Ashfield, Wolverhampton & Bilston, and Worcester
