With Spring finally here, we can start to look forward to the outdoor season.
There are plenty of “Open Meetings” lined up locally in the next couple of months, providing you the chance to record a time/distance/height.
Anybody can enter these competitions, all you have to do is pay for your entry (not every organiser accepts payment on the day, so check first).
As well as providing a relaxed, early bit of competition, the performances will help our Team Managers select teams for the first League matches.

Our first League matches of the season are:

  • 27 April – Lower Age Group YDL (U13 & U15) – Swansea
  • 5 May – Upper Age Group YDL (U17 & U20) – Swansea
  • 19 May – Midland League (Senior competition, but U17 upwards are eligible) – Oxford

This year, the Avon County Championships (usually middle of May) will be held over several Open Meetings, as the Yate track will not be ready in time (it’s expected to ready beginning of June).

Dates of the Avon Track & Field League meetings have yet to be decided.

Details of ALL competitions, including Open Meetings, can be seen on our Fixtures page:
