LEAGUES
We now know that ALL of the following league fixtures have now officially been cancelled:
- Avon Track & Field League
- Lower YDL
- Upper YDL
- Midland League
Arrangements for the National Athletics League are still being discussed.
CHAMPIONSHIPS
- The Avon County Championships will not go ahead in any type of open meeting format.
- The South-West Inter-Counties Track and Field Championships will not take place this year, either on the original date (July 19th) or on the potential replacement date (August 23rd).
- English Schools has been cancelled.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Gloucestershire AA are already thinking of the forthcoming Cross-Country season: the (very provisional) dates for the Gloucester XC League are: Sunday 22nd November 2020; Saturday 12th December 2020; Saturday/Sunday 9th or 10th January 2021; Saturday 27th February 2021. No news of venues yet — or indeed what restrictions will apply to these and any other Cross-Country meetings due to any lingering Covid-19 rulings.
Extension of T&F Season into October:
We can now confirm that athletes turning 13/15/17 on or after September 1st will be able to compete as U13/U15/U17 in T&F until the end of October (from EA National Council virtual meeting, 15th June). Similarly, Schools athletes who were in Year xx during the academic year 2019-20 will remain in Year xx should schools decide to extend their athletic seasons into September and October (source: EA Webinar, 17th June).
