JEREMY DALE 2013-
CLUB HISTORY
- Vice Chair 2013 – 2014
- Chair 2014 –
Jeremy joined the club with wife, Ann, and their two daughters Jodie and Melissa.
He very quickly became a good Coach of many disciplines and specialist in High Jump.
In 2015 South Gloucestershire Council revealed they would be removing funding from Circadian Trust, the organisation that ran YOSC. This sparked fears that the facility would close forever.
Speaking in 2015, Jeremy said “We are now finalising negotiations and looking for funding so that eventually, it could be a profitable charitable business that puts the money straight back into the complex. It will take a lot of work and volunteers to get it off the ground.”
Following the takeover, Jeremy spent much of his life at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex, either working directly for YOSC, doing Groundskeeping jobs for all the sports that use the facility, running the bar and kitchen as well as dealing with all of the administrative work. Or working for Yate Athletic Club as the Chairman and Coach.
In 2017 Jeremy helped successfully bring a much needed storage facility to the club, which was big enough to also provide some indoor training space.
In 2018 South Gloucestershire Council rewarded all the hard work by investing further in to the facility and starting work on completely re-laying the track and providing new Jumps and throws facilities.
