Yate AC Para sprinter (T20) Rory Brown has just completed his first full season as a classified athlete.Having had no prior experience in athletics, Rory joined the club in April 2024 to try out some track sessions and get involved in para and adaptive sport. Thanks to the warm welcome, encouragement and guidance from the club’s coaches, he was instantly hooked. For the first time, he felt a genuine sense of belonging.Rory has proven to be an exceptionally dedicated and resilient athlete. He approaches every session with curiosity and determination, always eager to learn and improve. Neither challenging weather conditions nor fatigue ever deter him from giving his best.Rory has had an incredible season. He is ranked in the 2025 Uk rankings no.1 in the UK as a T20 para sprinter (U20) over both the 200m and 400m. He has represented Yate AC at the following events, achieving ALL GOLD medals. 🥇400M- England Athletics Junior Para Championships- Indoors (Sheffield) - March🥇100M – National Junior Para Athletics Championships – Outdoors (Coventry) July🥇200M - National Junior Para Athletics Championships – Outdoors (Coventry) July🥇400M- National Junior Para Athletics Championships – Outdoors (Coventry) July🥇100M – CP Sport National Athletics Championships – Outdoors (Coventry) Sept🥇400M – CP Sport National Athletics Championships – Outdoors (Coventry).
