On Sunday 5th of January 2020 there were two South West Championships being held at the same time.
TRI-COUNTIES CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Cross Country (XC) season is now upon us.
Yate athletes who have competed on the track during the summer months, now don the vest of our partner club, Westbury Harriers.
The entries system for the Tri-Counties Cross-Country Championships (incorporating Avon, Somerset, Wiltshire County Championships) is now open
The Pomphrey 5k is a series of races held in Mangotsfield. Here are the details:
Any Yate athletes that would like to take part in cross country over the winter are able to do so with/for our partner club Westbury Harriers.

News from our partner club Westbury Harriers
Online entries are now open for the Westbury Wipeout, our adventure run for 8 – 15 year-olds. This will be held on the evening of Monday, 2nd July at Blaise Castle. Full details are on the Events Wipeout page of the Westbury Harriers website, including a link for online entries.
Please enter early to avoid disappointment! There is a strict limit of 300 places, which all went very quickly last year. There will not be entries on the day.
Great news, Hannah Hobbs won Gold in Spain at the international XC at Seville. Hannah won the U20 classification and was second overall! Congratulations to her and her Coach Pat Gallagher what an amazing achievement!

In addition to Hannah Hobbs on International duty, there were several of our athletes not running due to injury and illness. Hopefully they will have been put forward for SW XC selection.
The SW XC teams will be published on the Avon Schools web site within the next couple of days.
Firstly we have just had confirmation that Chris Jones CEO of England athletics is visiting Yate and District AC on Tuesday evening 26th September 2017! There is no set format, he will arrive before 7.00 pm and be escorted around looking at our facilities, watching training, meeting coaches and athletes alike. I appreciate some groups are on a break but it would be great to have the track looking busy if possible. Photos and an article will then appear in the EA news letter in the near future.
