Date for your diaries…
Our AGM will be at 7pm on 1st March, via Zoom.
All club members welcome.
If you would like to attend please contact club secretary Stuart Nunn as soon as possible so he can send you the meeting invite. (snunn1564@gmail.com).
The club committee for the coming year will be elected at this meeting. The current committee roles are Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Welfare Officer, Membership Secretary, Officials Coordinator, Coaching Coordinator, Social & Engagement Officer. Details of all these roles can be found on our website. https://yateac.co.uk/about-the-club/committee/ In addition the committee includes all our team managers. The committee meet once a month, currently online, but always with a drink in our hands!
The club is always looking for new members to join the committee, so please let us know if you have any specific skills that you think the club could benefit from. There are also a few specific roles that we need to fill at this time.
1.Most urgently, we are looking for a new Officials Coordinator, as our wonderful Pat Jefferies is stepping down after several years of service on the committee. (Huge heartfelt thanks go out to Pat, we will miss you at our monthly meetings but hope to still see you at the track).
2. The committee would like to add a role of Disability Co-ordinator, as we seek to increase our disability athletics offer over the next few years. (Contact Jeremy on jeremydale@btinternet.com)
3. Our Membership Secretary, Ellen Taylor would like to work alongside another willing volunteer this year with the aim of handing over the role next year. (Contact Ellen at yatemembership@outlook.com)
4. We would like a male Assistant Safeguarding and Welfare Officer to work alongside Hannah Jackson to ensure that our club is a safe, welcoming, inclusive and encouraging place to be for all athletes. (Contact Hannah at: yateacsafeguarding@gmail.com)
The club cannot function without our committed committee members, and, despite the obvious challenges, it’s an exciting time to get involved as we expand into disability athletics, the National Athletics League and anticipate working closely with EA again as athletics reopens after lockdown.
Don’t be shy! Please do get in touch if you would like to get involved.
