Andrew Moyes – New Officials Co-ordinator
We are very pleased to introduce you to Andrew Moyes – our new Officials Co-ordinator.
Andrew comes from a hospitality background, having worked for M&S, Shell and his own coffee shop chain. He now work as a Hospitality Consultant. Andrew became involved in athletics and the club via his daughter Natasha, who is one of our promising young hurdlers and sprinters, currently an U15, who trains with hurdles coach Graham.
Andrew has jumped right in at the deep end this year by joining the committee as the Officials Co-ordinator. This means that for any competition or match that Yate AC are involved with, he has to ensure that we have our full quota of officials. It’s a big job!
For a competition such as the one we held last weekend we need at least 30 officials. For a league match, at least 5 officials must travel with the team, or, if we are hosting, we need around 15 officials. Officials put valuable points onto the score board. So we are very grateful to Andrew for getting on board.
What would make Andrew’s job so much easier would be if we had more officials, so if you are going along to matches with your athlete please do consider getting involved in this capacity.
