THE YATE/WESTBURY PARTNERSHIP
The job of running an athletics club is never an easy one. With both Yate & District Athletic Club and Westbury Harriers struggling, they decided to discus their situations and in April 1997 agreed to form a partnership.
The agreement was Yate would specialise in track and field athletics and Westbury would become a specialist cross-country and running club.
This special partnership has always meant athletes from Westbury can represent Yate on the track (but aren’t obliged to do so). Similarly, Yate athletes can represent Westbury for cross-country and road racing (but are not obliged to do so).
Any Yate athlete wanting to compete for Westbury would need to complete an affiliation form with them too and now, because of recent EA changes, an other discipline form.
Athletes need only pay for one club membership.
