EARLY SEASON COMPETITION
The following is a message from Joy Bray, the Team Manager to our Lower Age Group Youth Development team (U13 and U15), but the principle applies to everyone hoping to be part of a league team this season:
On Saturday and Sunday 2/3 April, there will be an opportunity for you to set a mark for the new season in running, hurdling, jumping, and throwing events.
Please come along and show us what you can do in a nice and friendly relaxed competition. If you have never competed before, don’t worry because there will be lots of support from coaches and officials and parents. Just have a go and see what you can do.
The U13/U15 age groups (school years 6, 7, 8 and 9) have teams that we need to fill, to win points and hopefully win leagues. I will be selecting athletes for the YDL Yate AC team based on knowing what events you can do and what standard you are at, and there are plenty of opportunities in the team.
Saturday 2nd will be our Throws and Jumps open. Enter here: https://meets.rosterathletics.com/public/login. (pre-entry for Yate athletes only until end of 11th March).
Sunday 3rd April is our Sprints and Hurdles Open. Enter here: https://gratimhow.github.io/SandHInfoPage.html
Please note, you will need to have an EA Unique Reference Number to enter through Roster that you get through being a member of a club. All the info on how to become a member of Yate AC please see https://yateac.co.uk/membership/ or contact yatemembership@outlook.com.
It would also be helpful if you could create a profile on the Power of 10, where I can easily see any of your performances. https://thepowerof10.info/
The dates for Youth Development League (YDL) matches are as follows. Please put them in your diary, get your spikes or trainers on and have a go. If you would like to find out more, please chat to me at the track. I’m usually around on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, by the high jump apron.
Youth Development League dates:
8th May – Yate
21 May – Hereford
3 July – Yate
Joy Bray (U13/U15 YDL Team Manager)
We have now populated our website fixtures list with plenty of local Open Meetings, as well as all our League matches.
