Dear athlete,
Your membership with Yate & District Athletic Club is due for renewal before Thu 31 Mar 2022 and can now be renewed by following the link below. You will not require a password, just the email registered with your membership.
It’s that time of year again! We are excited to announce we are now taking applications and renewals for the 2021/22 season.
Don’t forget this month your membership renewal/new Membership is due for the new season.
This is a really straightforward process: simply download the membership renewal/new form from the website, complete it, sort out the payment and get it to our membership Secretary Ellen Taylor by email, post or at the track. We’ll then get your registration sorted with England Athletics for the coming season, which entitles you to compete in all sorts of athletics competitions such as local opens (7 of which are held at YOSC), county championships, and of course, as part of the Yate team, in the Avon Track and Field League (4 meets), Youth Development league (4 meets) and for under 17s and above the Midland league (4 meets). For some age groups that’s the opportunity to compete for the club 8 times in the season, for U17 and above 12 times!
Not to mention the training opportunities at own ‘home track’ at YOSC (with our wide range of development and experienced performance coaches), which after the track relay this summer will be even more extensive.
We can therefore offer the full development pathway from our academy sessions through to club nights at our own track.
If you are looking for membership of Yate AC for the first time (new members always welcome!) you just need to do exactly the same thing, but download the ‘joining for the first time’ form instead of the renewal form. You’ll receive a Yate competition vest as part of your first membership fee too (reduced rates for subsequent years)!
The final deadline for us to receive your membership form is March 31st. This will ensure your registration is renewed/newly registered in time for our Sprints and Hurdles competition on 8th April.
All the info that you will need is on the website membership page, but if you do have any other questions about registration, training or competition please do grab any of the Yate AC coaches or one of the Committee members who will be happy to chat with you.
Thank you to everyone who has already renewed or applied for membership for the 2017/2018 season. U13 athletes and above (ie those of you in year 6 and above) should by now have received email confirmation from England Athletics that you are licensed to compete – please contact Ellen at yatemembership@outlook.com if you are still waiting to hear.
We are planning to have a supply of competition vests available for new joiners to pick up at Sprints and Hurdles on Sunday – replacement vests are also available at a price of £12.
If you haven’t already renewed your membership, then you will need to do so before you compete, England Athletics require all athletes aged U13 and over to be licensed for insurance purposes. Renewal forms can be found here: http://yateac.co.uk/membership/
Renewals are £20 for athletes aged 19 and below on 31st December 2017 (ie U20 and below), and £30 for senior athletes (ie U23 and above) – remember that subsequent family members receive a £5 discount. Please contact Ellen directly if you are studying away from home.
Finally, if you need a chat about membership then please grab Ellen – she’s generally behind the bar on a Thursday and Saturday (or in the results room at home fixtures)
Now we’re getting really close to the start of the season, we need to make sure that the track and surrounding areas are ready to host our first events. As you probably already know, Yate Outdoor Sports Complex is run by volunteers from the club, and so we need your help and support to make sure that we’re ready.
So, we’d like to invite you all to come along on the afternoon of Saturday 25th March to get stuck into clearing the banks, cleaning the stands, repairing and painting the jumping boards, cleaning out the steeple chase pit, raking the sandpits, greasing the hurdle weights, extending the shot put demarcations…….and loads more!
The long term weather forecast is looking bright and sunny for Yate on Saturday (no honestly it really is!), so why not stay after training and join us for the afternoon?
And if you’ve not already done so – bring your completed membership forms with you – renewals need to be in by the end of March if you want to compete in April!
With the new season rapidly approaching its time to renew your Club membership (or join for the first time, if you want to compete)
March is now membership month, so Ellen and her team will be in the club house Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights to accept your membership applications, deal with any queries and hand out our new booklet designed to help you through our great sport of athletics and our clubs’ part in it.
In the meantime, our team managers are getting organised for league competitions kicking off in April and May. They will be busy scouring the power of ten to find performances and make their team selections, so, once you’ve joined, you’re going to want to make sure you record some performances for them to consider.
The first competition to try would be the Bath Field Fest on 02/04/17 where you will be able to compete in the jumps and throws events (and Pole Vault). Go to the Team bath web site for entries.
Our own very popular Sprints and hurdles is next on 09/04/17 at Yate. Entries are limited to 200 so get your entry in as soon as possible as this will be one of the few opportunities to run and register a time before team selection starts for the YDL events later in April.
Entry forms can be found on our web site so don’t delay do it today!
