We would like to give our members notice that we will be having our AGM on 27th February, from 8pm.
As we start to get used to how we can better display our news items on this website, here is a small roundup of some of the things that have happened over the last couple of months…
Great News, Westbury Harriers have 3 coaches at the track on Tuesday evenings from 7.00 -8.30! This will ensure everyone who wants coaching for cross country and track work from 800 m up will be catered for at all levels. There is now a dedicated beginners group, so no need to feel it will all be too fast for you!
On Thursdays from 7.00 – 8.30 Neil Miller, from Westbury Harriers, has kindly stepped in to run the distance session until our new coach Jason Micheal starts in April. Jason has vast experience in coach, ranging from academy sessions up to senior athletes like Ellie Leather who is currently in American on a sport scholarship! He Will be a great addition to our coaching team and we look forward to him joining us at Yate.
Sandra Woodman’s sprint group (Tuesdays and Thursdays 7.00 – 8.30) is also looking really healthy with a range of younger athletes joining the group. It is great to see the younger ones training next to the more experience ‘English Schools’ qualifying athletes, what better role models can there be?
Graham Howell’s performance Hurdles group is growing nicely, but don’t forget he also has a development squad that meet on Wednesday nights from 7.00 pm -8.00 pm should you are interested (but not sure what it entails) or do want to follow a hurdles pathway and benefit from his vast experience.
Our AGM has been set for Thursday 29th March at 8.30 pm in the club house, any proposals need to be submitted in writing to our Secretary Tracey John 7 days in advance.
Look forward to seeing you there.
After the success of the awards night with it’s slightly altered format and new booklet it is time to reflect on things ‘club’ related rather than the athletic success of league teams, English schools, world master and GB para achievements.
So a final reminder the club AGM will be held in the club house on Tuesday night 6th December starting at 8.30pm this is open to all members so if you have something to say now is your opportunity.
Look forward to seeing you there.
