Chairman’s report from the AGM held at Yate Parish Hall on 25th March. Amey Roadstone still sponsoring the April road races. Pamphlet entitled ‘Athletics in Northavon’ issued. New track due to be in use by July (without floodlighting or changing rooms). Fixture list for the Summer. 33 medals won at Avon County track and field champioship – 14 gold, 8 silver and 11 bronze. Yate runners to run the Cotswold Way Relay on 18th June. Plans to change the Wednesday evening training format into several small groups. Male and female Yate runners win the Northavon Triangular Challenge.
No 16 – December 1988
At last the track is finished. Grand opening day planned for 1st May 1989. Result of the Cotswold Way Relay – 17 hrs 40 mins. First Yate Hilly Half Marathon organised. Summer fixture list.
