We understand that this years Avon Schools Championships (11 June) have been cancelled.
David Turner (Avon County Coordinator) has issued the following reminder:
Just to remind everyone. The County SportsHall Championships are happening this Saturday, April 30th at Bristol Grammar School sports hall.
The County Championships, reserved across the country for mid-May, is traditionally the first championship event of the outdoor track and field season.
This is a competition we would highly recommend to our athletes.
With no qualifying standards or selection policy, all interested athletes are responsible for entering themselves.
The evenings are getting longer and the temperatures are slowly getting warmer as summer approaches.
From a Track & Field perspective, this can mean only one thing. The outdoor season is here!
For those of you new to athletics this can often be a confusing time, but it’s really easy… we promise!
It should go without saying that competition simply cant go ahead if there is nobody to measure and record athletes times heights or distances.
This season, the club would desperately like to hear from more people willing to help us with our officiating commitments.
The following is a message from Joy Bray, the Team Manager to our Lower Age Group Youth Development team (U13 and U15), but the principle applies to everyone hoping to be part of a league team this season:
Dear athlete,
Your membership with Yate & District Athletic Club is due for renewal before Thu 31 Mar 2022 and can now be renewed by following the link below. You will not require a password, just the email registered with your membership.
The dates and venues for both of our adult leagues are now confirmed.
Unlike last season, we will only be hosting one match per league, so there will be more travel involved…
Since the closure of Initially Yours we have been working hard to establish a new supplier for our kit. We have now secured a supplier and are pleased to announce we will be working with Linela, based in Olveston.
Yate Outdoor Sports Complex (YOSC) will be officially closed for Christmas from December 19th, through to January 4th.
